About Mireille
Mireille worked as a physiotherapist for many years, but felt the urge to build something of her own – a place where she could put her own stamp on things. That desire became even clearer when the couple had twins: Victor and Leon. For the family, it was the perfect opportunity to move to Alexander’s family farm.
The B&B gave her that space. A project of her own, into which she can pour all her energy, but at a pace that fits in with family life. Today, Mireille is the point of contact for guests during their stay at the Arenberghoeve. Mireille ensures the rooms are spotless and maintains a warm, personal connection with the guests. She loves the homely atmosphere and makes sure every stay gets that little bit extra – with an eye for detail and a heart for people.
About Alexander
Alexander grew up amongst the stables and fields of his family’s pig farm in Kieldrecht. His love for the countryside was instilled in him from an early age — and he has been sharing it for over 25 years as a teacher at the Biobroeders agricultural and horticultural college in Sint-Niklaas.
Today, that love lives on at the Arenberghoeve, where the farm’s original façade still forms the heart of the B&B.
He has also developed a second passion: cooking. What began as training to become an assistant chef grew into a qualification as a head chef.
These two worlds come together at the Arenberghoeve. He is the driving force behind the Baking House: our dining concept for groups. There, Alexander cooks in tune with nature and tailored to his guests. Because for him, hospitality is just as important as flavour.

Our family project

The Arenberghoeve is more than just a place to stay or a tasting venue. It is a family project that has grown organically alongside the lives of Alexander and Mireille – and their twins, Victor and Leon. Whereas the boys used to play with the guests’ children, you’ll now regularly find them out in the fields or in the Bakhuis, where they spontaneously lend a hand.
They grew up with the rhythm of the seasons and life in the countryside. And you can feel it: anyone staying here becomes part of the house, the farmyard and the story.
No grand hotel, no packed programme – just a place where hospitality comes naturally, and where generations work together to create a warm, rural atmosphere.
