Prosper Room: a peaceful stay with a focus on accessibility

Prosper Room: a peaceful stay with a focus on accessibility

Accessibility

Bijgewerkt: June 5, 2026

Sometimes you’re not looking for a spectacular trip. You’re mainly looking for comfort, peace and the feeling that everything is just right. Especially when mobility is a factor, you want to know exactly what to expect in advance. The Prosper Room at Arenberghoeve is designed precisely for those guests: a ground-floor room where both the room itself and the access are fully adapted to the needs of guests with reduced mobility.

Why Prosper feels just that little bit different

Prosper isn’t just a room that happens to be on the ground floor. It’s a deliberate choice within the farm: a place to stay where you can enter easily, move around with ease, and where the basic facilities remain logical and accessible, even if you need extra support.

Arenberghoeve has also been awarded a Level A quality label for accessible tourism. This is not just a minor detail, but a sign that accessibility is no afterthought here. The B&B is accessible to a basic level. For most people with reduced mobility, this is manageable, but some extra effort or assistance may be required. For example, our front door does not open automatically when you approach it.

Every room at Arenberghoeve references the polder region. Prosper takes its name from the Prosperpolder. This fits the atmosphere of the farm: down-to-earth, rural and open, with nature never far away.

What you can expect in the Prosper room

Prosper is comfortably furnished for two people.
The room features:

  • one double bed
  • a bathroom with a wheelchair-accessible shower fitted with a shower seat and grab rails, a washbasin and a toilet. There is ample space to manoeuvre next to, in front of and diagonally in front of the shower seat. The toilet has grab rails and there is space to manoeuvre next to, in front of and diagonally in front of the toilet. The washbasin is wheelchair-accessible, although the height is limited to 61 cm. There is ample space to move around.
  • Wi-Fi and TV, available 24/7
  • air conditioning
  • a smoke-free environment

Also good to know: There is no carpet in the room. A hairdryer is available on request. Pets are not allowed.

The farm itself: small comforts that make a big difference

When you stay overnight, you’re not just staying in a room. You also soak up the atmosphere of the farm.

Part of the access path is paved with cobblestones. These are fairly easy to navigate. Due to the 4 cm kerb at the entrance and the lack of space to manoeuvre next to the door handle on the inside, you may need a little help. Inside, there is plenty of space to move about. The main rooms are on the ground floor. The corridors are wide enough. The living and breakfast area has a wheelchair-accessible table and plenty of space to move about.

In summer, there is a terrace where you can sit outside. On cooler evenings, there is a reading corner where you can settle down with a beer or a glass of wine. Board games are also available.

If you’re arriving by bike, there is a locked and covered bike shed where bikes can be charged on site.
